A BERWICK man had his car impounded last week after he was nabbed travelling at 144km/h in an 80km/h zone.
Police caught the 1998 Mitsubishi Magna sedan on Wellington Road in Clematis at 11.57am on Tuesday 4 August.
Under the hoon legislation, the car was seized and impounded for 48 hours.
The 20-year-old was also detected driving an unregistered and unroadworthy vehicle. Police issued the man with three penalty notices, totalling $1279 in fines, the loss of eight demerit points and a 12-month licence suspension.
