A VERY light yarding of 164 head at Baw Baw Livestock Exchange on Wednesday saw mixed reactions to categories, with steers being the odd ones out this week, rising nine cents on average.
Bullocks were short with only one on offer.
Seventeen heifers sold to light demand and eased back to average 134.3 with prices ranging from 90.2 to 180 cents.
Thirty-one steers faired well rising nine cents to 166, the amount and condition being the difference, prices ranging from a low of 144.2 to top at 180.6.
One hundred and 15 vealers made to a good top of 222 cents for heavy, from a low of 101.2, with light vealers making from 112.6 to 195.2.
Lack of demand had an effect again at the bull and cow sale on Thursday, with bulls slipping to 119.3, although there were eight fewer head on offer some of lighter quality, bulls ranged from 89.6 to 136.2.
Two hundred less cows also managed an easing in price on average, condition would be the main factor as a fair proportion o some sales were in the light end of the score scale.
Heavy cows sold to strong demand ranging from 50 cents to 142.2 and light cows 60.2 to 94.2 cents.

Monday’s calf market saw 100 fewer offered with 622 yarded, Friesian heifers sold well making to $325, dairy bull calves were dearer selling to $70, while beef calves made to $170 with one exception at $205.
