Playing against Devon Meadows at the picturesque Maryknoll ground the Marygoons lost the toss and were asked to bat.
After a slow start due to good bowling by the opposition the Marygoons lost early wickets at a steady rate and were 6/69 at the tea break.
Some stubborn resistance, led by Jeff Stephanitsch, put a small amount of respectability in the Marygoons’ score who were dismissed in the 46th over for 96 runs.
They did manage to bring themselves back into the game with their bowling with Jason Campbell and Chase Saunders taking two wickets each to have Devon Meadows 4/33 at the end of day one.
