BERWICK Senior Citizens’ meeting on Friday, 10 October, had almost full attendance. A welcome was extended to a visitor, Hildegard Birnie.
Three members were reported sick – Win Robinson, Gladys Obeth and Beryl Newman, while Juliet Carrick was in hospital.
Wilma Clark and Josephine Hauroro were winners of the door prizes, while Bessie Gould won the meat tray.
The lucky winner of the voucher was Mary Barford.
The winners of the two donated orchids from the previous week were Mary Sharp and Bessie Gould.
It was announced that donations to Christmas hampers could be made.
Tins of fruit, vegetables, biscuits and such small treats would be most acceptable to people who were struggling in the present economic crisis.
After the meeting, bingo was held. However, the record of winners was somehow lost, more’s the pity.
