Champs are top class

PAKENHAM Consolidated School aerobics team, the ‘Pakky Tornados’, won first place at this year’s National Aeroskools Championships on October 6.
After many hours of rehearsal before and after school and during lunchtimes, and competing in heats throughout the year, Grade 4 students Emily, Kirsten, Madison, Megan and Tabita beat 12 other teams at the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre to become the National Champions.
The Pakky Tornados named winning a gold medal in their section as the most memorable moment of a very successful year for the team.
“I feel nervous from the night before until we start performing and after the competition I feel happy that I have done well,” Kirsten said.
Rehearsing and performing with friends was also a highlight.
Coach Sally Isaac said that she looks forward to another successful year in 2010.
