Leak delays pool opening

KOOWEERUP residents will have to travel to Pakenham or Garfield this weekend to escape the warm weather after major leaks in the outdoor swimming pool were found.
The pool was expected to open last weekend, right in time for this week’s heat wave, but it has been delayed as works to repair the pool have started.
While there is no set date for the opening of the pool it is believed residents could splash down in the repaired pool by next Monday.
Pakenham residents wanting to cool down this weekend can head to their local pool, which is expected to open on Saturday and bring much needed relief after a week of 30-degree-plus days.
Pool opening dates are: Pakenham Outdoor Pool, 14 November; Garfield Outdoor Pool, 14 November; Koo-weerup Outdoor Pool, expected opening for main pool, 16 November; Emerald Lake Park Water Play Area, 4 December. All pools will be closed on Christmas Day.
