Racing’s Family Day to help

A FAMILY Fun Day will be held at Pakenham racecourse on Saturday 5 February from 11 to 4.30pm to support families affected by the Queensland and Victorian floods.
Renee Andric, one of the organisers, said there would be a mixture of market stalls for people to browse.
“There will be ladies selling cupcakes, where one of them will also be doing cupcake decorating with the kids, a lady selling fairy floss, and also a barbecue. There will be people selling handmade cards, child safety products and first aid equipment, kids’ education books and puzzles and handmade mini hats for the races.”
There will also be face painting, pony rides, jumping castles, bungee trampolines, an animal farm, and cakes, lollies and ice creams. Family portraits can be taken at discount prices.
All stallholders will be contributing part of their sales towards the flood relief.
Entertainment will be provided throughout the day.
There will be a tent set up as a collection point for clothing, toys, books and non-perishables. Gold coin donation for entry, food and drinks and most of the rides and activities.
