Lorraine Wyers left her luggage on Station Street, Pakenham, and by the time she crossed the street, an opportunistic thief had stolen her suitcase.

A PAKENHAM Upper woman is warning locals to look out for a luggage thief.
Lorraine Wyers returned home from Thailand on 24 January and had her luggage stolen from the Station Street bus depot in Pakenham.
“I want to let people know to be careful,” she said. “I felt perfectly safe in Thailand and I get back to Pakenham and within five minutes my suitcase was stolen.”
Ms Wyers was dragging her suitcase because the handle was broken but rather than pull it across the street she saw nobody was around and left it at the bus stop.
By the time she had crossed the street she said the occupants of a dark coloured car had driven past and picked it up.
“It is incredible there was the opportunity and the opportunist in that time.”
Ms Wyers lost her clothes and gifts.
She said the items were of little use to anybody else, but inconvenient to replace.
“It’s just a nuisance and the swiftness of it, especially in comparison to where I’ve been,” she said.
Ms Wyers spent a week visiting her daughter in a remote part of Thailand, where there was no security and houses were left open.
Police are investigating the theft.
