Show jumping is on track to entertain at the Berwick Show. Co-ordinator Gayle Joyce says it will be thrilling entertainment.
Held at Akoonah Park, the course has been designed by David Sheppard to test horse and rider.
The two days of show jumping kick off on Saturday at 8am with the Akoonah Park Stars of the Future Junior Rider, followed by the Skye Park Rugs Maiden D Grade for horses with limited experience jumping 1.05 metres.
Saturday will also include the D Grade class for horses with five points and over jumping 1.10 metres, the open class for horses jumping 1.30 metres and the C and D Grade class.
Be sure to get a seat for the Saturday evening six-car competition for junior and open riders, an elimination event over six obstacles with the bar rising over five successive rounds.
Ms Joyce said the event was a crowd pleaser and the jumps could get up to 1.6 metres.
The Sunday jumping program starts at 8.30am with classes for D, C and B Grade horses along with an open class for horses jumping 1.35 metres.
All the first place winners will receive inscribed trophy rugs from Skye Park Rugs.
Racing Victoria is a major sponsor and the best performed thoroughbred horse over the two days will receive a trophy rug and $500 in prizemoney.
A new encouragement award of $250 will be sponsored by Equestrian Risk Solutions for the hobby show jump rider.
Ms Joyce acknowledged the support of the judges Anne Garner and Annie White, announcer Brian Brennan, sponsors and the many helpers from Port Phillip Show Jumping Club.
