Clubs come from far and wide

PLAYERS representing 32 clubs came from far and wide to contest the Drouin Golf and Country Club’s annual tournament last week.
The large fields enjoyed golf in excellent course conditions.
The hunt for trophies from first year supporter Drouin Home Timber and Hardware started on Tuesday, when Irene Thomas won the A grade scratch of the ladies stroke with a nett 88.
The A Grade handicap winner was Lisa Matthews with 73 and the runner-up was Glenda Warren with a nett 74.
The B Grade scratch winner was Kay Feaver with 95 (c/b). B Grade handicap winner with net 70 was Karen Adams. Runner up was Mary Tymensen with 73.
C Grade scratch winner was Betty Johnson with 105. C Grade handicap winner was Robyn Eacott net 75(c/b) and Runner up was Viv Brereton also with 75.
Irene Thomas had an eagle on the 21st hole, while nearest the pins went to Val Johnson on the 14th, Rose Gallagher on 17th, and to Jenny Johnson on the 23rd.
Vicki Tepleton won the lucky card. Down the line balls went to Gwen Vitiritti 74, Mary Clark 74, Shannon Trumper 74, Marg Purcell 76, Fay Downward 76 and Leanne Fenby 76.
