Terry a winner overall

TERRY McLaughlin was on song at the Garfield Golf Club on Saturday, winning the C Grade and being the overall winner of the par event with a score of +9 off a handicap of 23.
A Grade was won by Shane Male (11) with a +7 and B Grade went to George Pargeter with +7 off a handicap of 16.
Nearest the pins were won by Shane Male (fourth), Wayne Kemp (eighth), Pargeter (ninth), Tom Griffiths (11th), Rex Turner (14th) and David Dineen (16th). The second shot on the fifth hole went to Trevor Marsham and Glen Wells took the seventh.
Down the lines were Tony Simons and Grant McKay +7s, Bill Low and Glen Wells +6s, Les King +5, Paul Kaye, Eric Harvie, M Cousin and Ron Norton, all +4s.
The ladies winner was D. Pilkington, while Pakenham’s T. Taberer was the raffle winner.
The Thursday event was won by B. Wadeson with 43 points from Norm Robbins with 42. Down the lines were won by Tony Elliot and Bill Church, both with 40. The nearest the pins were Glen Morris (fourth and eighth), Church (ninth and 11th), R. Edwards (14th) and G. Palmer (16th).
The pennant season opened on Sunday with Divisions 2 and 3 having wins. Division 2 won 6/3 and Division 3 won 8/1.
The monthly medal will be played on Saturday.
