Seniors mark the passing of a friend

THE Pakenham Senior Citizens started on a sad note today with the passing of Elizabeth Algra on Good Friday. The committee and members convey their heartfelt sympathies to Ted and family. She will be sadly missed.
Birthdays were marked for Angelica Pheonix, Daphne Wright, Sheila Howell, Ken Lightfoot, Gloria Nazereth, Jan Fenton, Brian Buttle and Eileen Walsh.
Welcome back to Carmel Malpera, Maria Broekstra, Josie Charabie, Kathy English and Shirley Dalton.
Jean Kirk, of Fairweather, was a welcome visitor.
Members reported as ill were Albert Boxhill and Jean Eckersley, while Don Shaw, Ann Spinks, June Murphy and Robert Dodd are in hospital. Hope you all have a speedy recovery.
Upcoming events include the movie Water for Elephants on 18 May, cost $20; a mystery tour 22 June, cost $40; and Christmas in July, 13 July, travel to Sandown by coach, $25 including meal.
New members welcomed were Elizabeth and Winton Crowther.
Little Tatts was taken by Wilma Johansson, Thelma Rogers, Nola Hogan, Judy Brigham, Joanna Stewart and John Dupuy; the raffle by Sue Johns; and the door prize by Dot Dupuy and Jeff Chapman.
