Builders dialled the wrong number

A CONSTRUCTION error at the Woolworths Development in Pakenham’s CBD saw residents in Cardinia Lakes go without phone lines for over a week.
A spokesman for Robert Luxmoore confirmed that builders had accidentally cut phone cables during work on the development, and were working with Telstra to get things back to normal for residents.
Ryan Cassidy said he first noticed he had no dial tone on Thursday when he tried to use the internet.
“I called Telstra and they informed me that there was some sort of fault, that there was a cable knocked in the area of the Woolworths development,” Mr Cassidy said.
“They said because of Easter it meant that we would be without phones until Wednesday (4 May).”
While he said most households would have had access to mobile phones, it was an inconvenience for him as he had just started a small business called Cardinia Osteopathic Clinic and relied heavily on the internet.
