A SIMILAR size yarding in comparison to the previous week was penned last week at Baw Baw Livestock Exchange, Warragul.
Prices eased between five and 16 cents in all but bullocks, which recorded an increase of nine cents for a selection of slightly lighter head.
The colder weather is starting to have an effect on condition and demand has not improved any either.
One hundred and two bullocks averaged nine cents better at 179.1 cents and reached a top of 186.2 cents.
Ninety one heifers lifted the top price to 229.2 cents but still managed to ease 16 cents to average 173.7 cents.
One hundred and thirteen steers slipped eight cents to 178.4 cents and also increased the top five cents to 210 cents.
Three hundred and three veal also had a slip, easing five cents on average to 216.1 cents. The top was also easier at 262 cents.
Twenty bulls on Thursday gained 4.5 cents on average to 154 cents. Good condition and younger bulls penned saw the top rise 10 cents to 173 cents
Fifteen bullocks averaged 159.2 cents and sold to a good top of 176.6 cents.
Five hundred and nine cows held well to average 136.3 cents, very similar to last sale.
Speculators helped on the day paying up to 198.6 cents for good solid heifers, and processors coming in at 164.6 cents.
