It’s all new at Cockatoo

COCKATOO Fire Brigade was presented with their long awaited second tanker vehicle last week, which will replace the 20-year-old 10,000-litre tanker that was sold in 2007.
Captain Stephen Cameron happily accepted from Gembrook MP Brad Battin the keys to the new Hino 3.4C tanker.
The new vehicle was partially funded through the Community Safety Emergency Services Program, with the majority of the funds coming from community donations and the brigade’s fundraising efforts.
Mr Cameron recognised the significant contribution the community had made in order to make the purchase possible.
“Anyone who has ever given the brigade a donation, purchased a plant from the Cockatoo plant market or contributed to our many other fundraising efforts can now see where that money has been spent,” he said.
“The fire brigade’s newest fire-fighting tool is an invaluable asset, not only to the Cockatoo Fire Brigade, but to its community, neighbouring brigades and the Cardinia Group of Fire Brigades.”
