Cardinia Floorball

Involvement at Cardinia LiFE?
I work as a children’s program facilitator and have played floorball for six years.

What teams do you play for?
I play floorball for the Squishees at both local and representative level.

Most memorable sporting moment?
When I was awarded most valuable player at this year’s Australian Floorball Open.

Most embarrassing?
When I was playing hockey two years ago the whistle had blown but I didn’t hear it, so I ran halfway down field with the ball and scored. Everyone had stopped and the goalie didn’t move so I said “stuff ya, I’ll score” – and it wasn’t until no-one else celebrated with me that I realised the whistle went a minute and a half earlier.

What sporting aspirations did you have growing up?
I always wanted to play hockey for Australia now it’s shifted and I want to play floorball for my country.
If you could be any sportsperson who would it be and why?
Lance Armstrong, because he is my hero and always finds a way to keep going … and his arms are strong.

Best local and professional player?
Floorballer Benny Monckton because he is exciting and plays the way I want to play. The professional player would be Hockeyroos player Kate Hollywood because she is also exciting, wears number 10 and she has blonde hair.

Who is the most famous sporting personality you’ve met?
James Hird, I ran into him when the Bombers were training at the State Netball and Hockey Centre. I literally ran into him and automatically said sorry. Then I realised it was James Hird and freaked out.

Most prized memorabilia?
The trophy I have at home for being part of the winning Squishees team that took out the state title.
