Life starts at 40

NUMBER 40 was the lucky number at the Drouin Golf Club this week as three golfers took out their respective tournaments with that score.
Ken Cooper was declared Saturday’s stableford winner with a score of 40 after holding off runner-up Phil Dignan by one point and Max Henning and David Sharpe by two points.
Also reaching the winning score was Shane Gorman who took out the C Grade stableford in front of Wayne Duckett and Make Waring.
Balls down the line went to 37 on a countback and Eric Robbins won the pro pin on the 23rd hole.
In the mid-week stableford event, Rob Piner showed the way in A Grade, taking out the trophy with that winning total of 40.
A Graders Rob Gardner, Bill McGinness and Barry Beechey rounded out the rest of the contenders.
Trafalgar resident Roger Barnes claimed the B Grade win and balls down the line went to 35 on a countback.
Nearest to pins were Jim McCormack (fifth), Rob Woodward (eighth), Rob Piner (19th) and Jason Stirzaker 23rd and pro pin.
This Saturday is a three-person ambrose teams event at Drouin. Those needing a partner should leave their name at the pro shop.
