THERE were whispers in the village,
As word had got around,
A route to run the bypass,
Had finally been found.
A snazzy strip of bitumen,
Will stretch across the flat,
Providing passing traffic,
With a link from this to that.
Coupled with some roundabouts,
An’ brand new flash white lines,
Comes extra chance for lead foots,
To score some speeding fines,
Now, before the Growling Grass Frogs,
Can delay the start of play,
Before protesting bandicoots,
Line up to have their say.
Before we choke in gridlock,
If the bypass track’s been charted,
Right now would seem the perfect time,
To quickly get it started!
