Finals

FINALS bound Cora Lynn came up trumps over local rivals Catani on Saturday.
The Cobras won by 47 points – but did not get things all their own way.
The Blues started better than their lowly position suggested and held the lead in the second quarter before the visitors produced three late goals to go into the main break with a 16 point advantage.
In the second half, the more skilful Cobras came to the fore as the Blues work rate dropped off.
Broad shouldered Cora Lynn ruckman Dan Harders gave his smalls first use of the ball and after a tremendous month of football, he is now shaping as one of the most important recruits of the year.
Mid-season Narre Warren recruit Daniel Van Den Broek tore hard at the ball off his half back flank and repeatedly turned defence into attack while Sean Marchetti, Jack Allen and emerging youngster Jack Ryan powered the Cobra midfield.
Talented forwards Matt Robinson and Ryan Gillis applied the finishing touches to the good work upfield, each kicking four goals. Catani’s never say die captain Luke McFarlane was a constant source of strength across the half back line, Phil Strahan matched up well on pacy Cobra wingman Daniel Bradshaw and Owen Fitzpatrick (five goals) troubled the visitors defence.
However, he stained his game by being yellow carded in the third quarter.
Cranbourne recruit, 18-year-old Anthony Galley, was busy across the forward line and looks a top prospect, while Andy McKenna used good dash and skill at both ends of the field.
