It’s the Goon’s show

– Peter Sweeney
NAR Nar Goon will host this year’s Ellinbank and District Football League grand final.
And in other news at the Goon, Clint Williams will next year become the longest-serving coach in the history of the club.
Williams and Tony Hamill, who began as coach in 1999, at present share the honour at five seasons apiece.
Nar Nar Goon – the reigning premier, which will miss making the finals this year – won the race for the grand final after Cora Lynn recently withdrew from the battle.
The Cobras home ground – which was close to tip-top shape on Saturday after harrowing, rolling and pampering – hasn’t been its usual picture-perfect self this year.
The EDFL grand final will be played on 10 September.
Poowong and Kooweerup will host the elimination finals on the weekend of 20-21 August, top-of-the-ladder Garfield the first semi-final, Longwarry the second semi-final and Warragul Industrials the preliminary final.
