IT WAS Di Sullivan’s day at Drouin last Saturday: Not only did she score a hole in one on the temporarily shortened 19th hole, she topped off a great day by returning the best women’s score of the day, 76 nett.
Saturday was September monthly medal day and the return of wintry conditions kept the field numbers well down with only 54 players teeing off.
The winner of the medal and the day’s event was Ray Cropley (31) with a score of 71 nett. Runner-up was Richie Thomas with 72 nett on a count back from Shane Dwyer. Brad Bennet was next with 73 followed by Danny Gorman on 74. Balls down the line went to 75 on a countback. Nearest the pins were John Gardiner (14th), Shane Dwyer (17th), Colin Zeeno (19th) and Shane Dwyer (23rd, pro pin).
Wednesday’s stableford event attracted 82 players. Mick Whitford (10) took out A Grade with 40 points on a countback from Darryl Bryce. Garry Burns with 39 and David Ferguson on 38 were next.
David Banfield (24) won B Grade with 38 from Rod Gardner with 37 on a countback from Mike Roberts, Brendan Thomas and Gavan Feaver.
Lindsay Robinson (28) won C Grade with 40 on a countback from Michael Johnson. Balls down the line went to 36 on a countback. NTPs: Darryl Bryce (second), Darryl Bryce (fifth and pro pin), Mick Whitford (14th) and David Banfield (17th).
This Saturday is a pairs aggregate stableford event.
