IT WAS a family affair at Drouin Golf Club on Saturday when father-and-son team Errol and Paul Hopkinson won the Pairs Aggregate Stableford event.
It was the younger Hopkinson who led the way with 40 points, outshining his father’s 37 for a combined total of 77 points.
Also keeping it in the family were runners-up, the Robbins team, consisting of Dean (34) and his uncle John (43), who also had 77 but lost the day on a countback.
Other notable scores came in from Darryl Bryce and John Piner and Graham Rawson and Mark Allen with 72, Graham Austin and Tom Carroll and Warren Cook and Dave Williams with 70.
Nearest the Pins for the day were Peter Daniel (second), Noel Brereton (fifth), Ian Archer (14th) and John Denholm (17th).
Saturday’s women’s event was Stableford, which was won by Kay Feaver (27) with 37 points.

A good field of 98 players played in the Stableford event. Peter Downward (9) was the A Grade winner with 38.
Runner-up was Graham Austin 37 on a countback from Graham Charlton. Colin Zeeno, Doug Law and David Ferguson all came in on 36.
B Grade winner was Ed Plowman (19) with 39 on a countback from Noel Brereton. Matthew Power and Doug Scott both scored 38.
C Grade winner was Con Norris with 36 points on a countback from Don Cumming. Balls down the line went to 36 points.
Nearest the pins: David Ferguson (second) and (fifth and pro-pin, Eric Beveridge (14th) and Fred Gajdobranski (17th).
This Saturday is a par event for men and women.
