KEEN cake decorator Laura Beck is arranging a charity event for the Red Cross.
It’s a chance for the 21-year-old baker from Officer to show off her passion for cake making and decorating, as well as giving back to the community.
“I have been doing cakes for friends and family and I thought this would be a great chance to help out a charity, doing something that I love.”
“I hope to one day own a cake business so this is sort of a starting point for me,” Ms Beck said.
The Big Cake Bake is a fundraising initiative for the Red Cross and will run in October.
It’s the first year the initiative is being run by the not-for-profit organisation.
The charity event will be held in Main Street in Beaconsfield on 15 and 16 October.
Cakes, cupcakes, face painting and balloons are some of what’s planned for the day.
