CATCHING up with international friends will be just part of the fun for Italy-bound performers Brooke, Tahnee, Jessika and Emma.
But they have to learn how to speak the language first.
The owners of News Xpress Pakenham, Rowan and Dianne Higgon, presented Italian language sets to the four girls last week so they could prepare themselves for the four week trip before their departure on 28 November.
The four Pakenham Secondary College students join a 30 strong cast of students from 12 other secondary colleges on a musical adventure of a lifetime.
The girls will tour Europe performing Such is Life, a rock version of the Ned Kelly story.
As part of the trip, students will complete a home stay and be reunited with Italian performers they hosted for two weeks in September.
Pakenham Secondary College principal Ray Squires said he wholeheartedly supported the project.
“It is a fabulous opportunity for my students,” he said.
