A perfect day for the ladies

THE ladies started proceedings at Garfield Golf Club last week in perfect conditions with the fourth round of the Summer Cup Stableford competition, no excuses.
Liz Harrison (36) was the winner with 40 points while best nine winner was Gwen Vitiritti with 22 points.
Balls down the line went to Vitiritti (23) 37 points, Deirdre Pilkington (25) 36 points, Vikki Templeton (14) and Lyn Pinner (19) both on 31 points.
Nearest the pins went to Olga Pearson on the eighth and Liz Harrison on the 11th.

MEN’S STABLEFORD

Robert Miglas (20) was the standout performer on Thursday scoring 39 points to win by two shots from seven players all on 37 points.
Peter Skinner (15), Greg Needham (9), Chris McConnell (15), Damien Needham (6), Neil Currie (19), Michael Whyte (12) and Stephen Wallace (19) all received down the line balls for their 37 points.
Nearest the pins went to G.McKay (fourth), R.Eastick (eighth), B.Calderara (ninth), R.Miglas (11th), P.Federenko (14th) and W.Church on the 16th.
Secret nine winner was Peter King with 23 points while Peter Vanderhorst won the twilight event with 25 points.

SATURDAY

A great field of 124 players took to the course on Saturday and the Parent/Child winners were Grant Mclure and Rod Norton who with 46 points on a count back form Steve and Dale Clark.
Winners of the Overflow 4BBB event were Terry McLaugalin and Andy Patten with a score of 50 points from runners-up Peter Johnson and Steve Wallace on 48 points.
Down the line balls went to I.Naggy and W.Purden and E.Williams and C.Smith, both teams scoring 48 points.
B.Potter and D.Dineen and T.Garratt and R.Fielding both scored 47 points. D.Peacock and I.Hopper 46 points, M.Matthews and L.Matthews 46 points, J.Wade and C.Wade 45 points, J.Coutts and M.Coutts 45 points.
Nearest the pins went to C.Norris (fourth), T.Franklin (eighth), R.Calderara (ninth), P.Lacey (11th), D.Raines (14th) and D.Dineen on the 16th.

SUNDAY

Twenty players entered on the day and this number of players is growing each week.
Winner was Robert Calderara with a good score of 42 points off a handicap of 13.
Runner-up was Derick (The Gun) Arnolda (15) with 38pts.
