THE Pakenham Racing Club was a sea of colour and smiling faces on Saturday with beautiful weather and fun activities making the Cardinia Shire Kids’ Day Out Raceday a roaring success.
Free entry and rides all sponsored by the Cardinia Shire, provided the perfect opportunity for families to enjoy a cheap day out before the New Year gets back into full swing.
Clowns, a jumping castle, face painting, and many other activities kept the kiddies occupied while Mum and Dad tried to back a winner. On track the racing was hot.
Pride of Coupez took out the 2400m feature Cardinia Shire Cup while local trainer Cameron Templeton kicked off the New Year with a win. His six-year-old gelding Show’em Earnest heading a Pakenham trained trifecta in race four.
