BERWICK musician Kim Hien Dang has been recognised by the Victorian Government with a grant to produce a CD featuring Vietnamese instruments.
Kim’s was one of 47 new music projects to receive support under Arts Victoria’s Contemporary and Live Music Development Program.
Member for Gembrook Brad Battin said the $3149 grant would help Kim Hien Dang produce a CD of her original compositions that use traditional and contemporary Vietnamese instruments.
“The Victorian Coalition Government believes it is important to invest in local talent and support home-grown artists. I am pleased Kim has been recognised and I look forward to listening to the finished collection.”
The Contemporary and Live Music Development program offers grants for recording and promotion, touring and professional travel, and sector development for programs that support, promote and develop the industry more broadly.
