Summer is set to shine across Melbourne’s southeast as the Southside Summer Carnival returns from 27 December to 17 January, bringing six action-packed race days to Southside Cranbourne and Southside Pakenham. Created as the region’s ultimate school-holiday outing, the carnival blends live racing with entertainment, themed attractions and free kids entry plus free kids rides and activities at every event.

The series opened on 27 December with The Valley @ Southside Cranbourne – Waterpark Day, transforming the track into a splash-filled playground with giant inflatables, cooling summer activities and appearances from Big Bash players.

On 3 January, Saturday Night Fever Dual Codes brought a Paw Patrol takeover to Cranbourne. Kids can meet Chase and Marshall while families enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of twilight racing and free activities.

The carnival moves to Southside Pakenham on 9 January for Kid-tastic Fridays featuring Sesame Street favourites Elmo and Cookie Monster. Bright colours, dancing and photo moments make it perfect for younger children.

On 10 January, Saturday Night Fever returns to Cranbourne with a movie twist, screening A Minecraft Movie and K-Pop Demon Hunters in The Grande Pavilion alongside night racing and food trucks.

Back at Pakenham on 16 January, Kid-tastic Fridays continues with the Family Fun Fiesta — a feel-good evening of rides and festive summer entertainment.

The finale arrives on 17 January at Southside Cranbourne with the high-energy Southside Sessions Music Festival. Enjoy an incredible live lineup including Jason Singh (Taxiride), Rai Thistlethwayte (Thirsty Merc), Rob Mills (Stage & Screen), Dragon’s Pete Drummond, Andrew Wishart, David Jones, and more still to be announced.

With diverse themed experiences and free kids entry and rides across all events, the Southside Summer Carnival delivers affordable family fun and memorable holiday moments. For more information and tickets, visit southsideracing.com.au.
