BERWICK and District Folk Club will present international performers Cath Mundy and Jay Turner at The Old Cheese Factory, Homestead Road, Berwick, on Friday (17March).
The doors open at 7.30pm and admission is $10 for guests and $7 for members.
The club presents vibrant live acts, soaring harmonies, spinetingling songs and sizzling arrangements on fiddle, acoustic guitar, piano and percussion.
All this is spiced with storytelling and anecdotes, poignant, perceptive and comic.
Cath Mundy and Jay Turner have played as support to The Corrs and Rolf Harris and recently enjoyed great success when they toured with British folkrock legends Fairport Convention on their 2004 winter tour in the UK.
The duo was formed in Australia in 1995, spent time in Cairns and Brisbane and has spent the past three years in Derbyshire, England.
Singersongwriter Jay Turner, originally from the UK and now an adopted Aussie, is a versatile acoustic guitarist, alternately delicate and driving.
Cath Mundy, of Brisbane, plays lyrical violin and piano in a cross between classical, folk and bluesrock styles.
They are billed as fine songwriters with singing voices that can veer from soaringly passionate to tender and subtle.
