BUNYIP and District Pony Club recently held its interclub horse trials and more than 180 competitors travelled from all over Victoria to take part.
Riders from pony clubs as far away as Buchan, Ballarat and Main Ridge competed in all club levels from grade five to grade one.
This event was a state qualifying event for grades one and two for the state championships to be held in May at Smythesdale.
The winner in grade one was Lucy Young of Bunyip Pony Club, riding Rex. SherriLee Jansson from Lillico won grade two, riding Kardella Flying Dutchman.
In grade three, Rebecca Parker from Bunyip won on The Bushman.
Grade four had two sections, the winners being Clancy Douglas from Main Ridge on Rhapsody and Sharna Colverd from Pearcedale on Roma. Equal first in grade five were Melissa Newman on Lakevale Holly and Thomas KellyHatfield on Annabelle, both winners coming from Bunyip.
Two training sections were held, Jess Thomas from Bunyip, on Nick, winning section three and Melanie Knill, on Cold Reason, winning section four.
The next events at Bunyip and District Pony Club will be the annual dressage day on 25 June and an instructional clinic in showjumping, dressage and crosscountry on 27, 28 and 29 June.
