FIVE men forced their way into a home in High Street, Berwick, and assaulted two male residents. Police said the aggravated burglary occurred about 2am on Thursday morning and two men in their early 20s were asleep in the house.
“The offenders bound them with duct tape and both men were beaten with a bat,” a spokesperson said.
One man suffered moderate injuries to his lower legs and was taken to Dandenong Hospital for Xrays. The other was treated at the scene for minor injuries.
The five men took a safe from the house and a wallet containing cash. Police believe they were wearing dark clothing and had their heads covered.
Anyone with any information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
