Clean sweep for Catani

CATANI took full advantage of its home ground against Warragul Industrials last Saturday.
All three junior grades recorded solid wins, before both senior sides comfortably defeated the injurydepleted Dusties’ teams.

SENIORS

Windy conditions greeted the teams as the game started, with Catani having the first crack with the advantage.
Scoring was difficult with the Dusties defenders frustrating the Blues for much of the quarter and, apart from a few lapses and some welljudged marks by John Entwisle, had done a good job to only trail the Blues by five goals to one at the first term.
From there on it became pretty much one way traffic Catani’s way.
The wind had died away and the Blues were able to pile on eight goals to two in the second term and 10 to one for the third to put the game away.
The final term saw the side play out time, but the Blues still managed a sixgoalstotwo term to end up with a 150 point winning margin.
Michael Stockx is starting to get back to his best and John Entwisle bagged another 11 goals for the day.
Other players to shine were Aaron Alger, Paul Whiffin, Chris Maclean, Ben Maroney and Owen Fitzpatrick.
Scores: Catani 29.15.189 d Warragul Industrials 6.3.39.

RESERVES

Catani returned to the winners’ list with a solid 59point victory against the Dusties.
It was a more settled and balanced side the Blues put on the park this week and this showed in the improved performance.
This was demonstrated with nine different goalkickers from the 11 scored.
The team will face a much tougher task this week when it plays top side Longwarry.
Scores: Catani 11.13.79 d Warragul Industrials 3.2.20.
Best for Catani were Luke McMillan, Paul Govaars, Tim Grant, Drew Campbell, Joel Cantwell and Michael Whiteside.

UNDER 17

Catani got back onto the winning list this week after a good team effort against the Dusties.
Great movement of the ball allowed for many scoring opportunities.
Leigh Jose led well from the front with seven goals. Sam Burns and Michael Williams continued their great seasons.
The younger brigade all played well, Blake Matthews, Brent Ryan, Beau Mason and Michael Pendlebury.
Other good players were Alex Campbell and Anderson Edwards in the middle, along with Mark Cardamone and fullback Kane Matthews was also among the goalkickers.
Scores: Catani 24.10.154 d Warragul Industrials 0.2.2 points.

UNDER 15

Catani continued to keep itself in the top group after a good victory over the Dusties on Saturday.
The team had most of the play and was too classy for its opponents that saw the Blues record a winning margin of 68 points.
Scores: Catani 11.10.76 d Warragul Industrials 1.2.8.
Best for Catani were Vaughn Campbell, William Carroll, Russell Lehman, Jake Stewart, Michael Ralph and Tom Hance.

UNDER 13

It was a great win by Catani on Saturday, with the young Blues challenged all day by the bigger Dusties players.
Taylor Stafford had a great game both forward and back and Troy Lehman starred with six goals.
There was hard work around the ground by Lachlan Grant, James Failla and James Canty, with Alexander Malpeson and Cody Banbury doing well in the backline, with Keegan Power also amongst the best.
Scores: Catani 9.4.58 d Warragul Industrials 0.4.4.
Best players were Taylor Stafford, Lachlan Grant, Tom Williams, Tyson Thomas, Michael Dicarlo and Kryton Knaap, with Jamie Evans kicking three goals.
