BEACONSFIELD seniors turned on a powerful sevengoaltonil third quarter to down a persistent Hampton Park by 64 points on Saturday.
Kicking to the clubhouse end at the Perc Allison Reserve in the first quarter, the Eagles battled hard to gain an advantage from a firedup Redback outfit.
Although Beaconsfield was leading at the first break, Hampton Park had the breeze in the second.
Daniel Charles was in everything early and the intensity lifted a notch as Haydn Robins made his presence felt.
At halftime Beaconsfield had drawn away to be comfortable leaders.
It was more of the same after the long break. Chris Kelf was at his best, with Rob Taylor and Ash Drake completing the clearances and the margin grew to 10 goals.
To Hampton Park’s credit, it continued to work at its game and matched the Eagles in a freeflowing last quarter.

Any hopes of a revival after the interval were quickly put to rest as Hampton Park outclassed the Eagles.

The Eagle Colts travelled to Hallam for another Friday night game and won a close game by three points.
It was to be a disappointing first half by the Eagles with players often second to the ball and not sufficiently focussed.
After a half time address by coach John Webb, the side lifted its workrate and piled on seven goals in the third quarter to make the scores level going into the last stanza.
The momentum was with the Eagles and they held Hallam at bay.
