It’s 12 all round

By Nicole Williams

FOR most people, their 12th birthday is not a big one but for Nathan Chadwick, it is a once- -in-a-lifetime celebration.
The Pakenham boy turned 12 today – on the 12th day of the 12th month in 2012.
His mum Leanne said they had the day earmarked since the day he was born.
“We have known all along, since he was born in 2000,” she said.
“It’s only once in a lifetime that he will turn 12 on 12/12/12.”
While Nathan is excited for his unique birthday, he said he didn’t realise the significance until this year.
“I didn’t realise until this year,” he said.
“My friends just think it’s cool.”
The family celebrated the milestone with a party last weekend and Nathan’s friends will celebrate with go-carts, laser tag and arcade games this weekend.
But his friends are used to once in a lifetime birthdays – Nathan said his friend Lachie turned 10 on 10 October 2010.
Today’s date is the last time this generation will live on a repeating day, month and year.
