Storm seeks bids for charity

PAKENHAM sporting personality Drew Morphett will host Gippsland Storm’s home game and AFL charity auction, after the club’s feature game to be played at the Pakenham Indoor Sports Complex on Saturday, 29 July.
One of the Storm committee members lost a niece and a nephew in the Mildura tragedy, where six teenagers died in February this year and all proceeds raised from the auction will go to families of the victims.
Storm has collected a host of autographed items from AFL clubs for auction including jumpers, boots and footballs from Collingwood, Richmond, Essendon and Brisbane.
There will also be items from the music industry and other sporting codes.
Gippsland Storm will host its only home game for the year on the night, starting at 6.30pm.
The Storm will play DC Force (Diamond Creek) in two feature State League games (divisions one and two) and it will be the only opportunity this year for netball enthusiasts in the region to see State League Netball played close to home.
Force narrowly defeated Storm recently and with the local side sitting on top of the ladder, the stage is set for an interesting encounter in the return match.
