C GRADE

Beaconsfield visited Devon Meadows on Saturday and the strong wind limited the effectiveness of lobbing forcing the girls to focus on shorter, sharp passes. Kat Powell and Sarah Garrett worked well in goals with the help of Debby Stacey who swapped into goals in the last half. Their accuracy was spot on, displaying skills in the windy conditions.
Pressure from Beaconsfield was evident all over the court, with all players working to make every pass difficult for Devon Meadows.
The defenders worked hard, picking up on all mistakes, resulting in Devon Meadows being kept goalless in the third quarter. Sarah Wyatt played well in goalkeeper and Sarah Battista, Kirsty Bussuttil, Lauren Kowalski and Shelly Ziesler all worked well to bring the ball down.
Scores: Beaconsfield 72 d Devon Meadows 16.

Best on court: Tarryn Darby. Scores: Beaconsfield 35 d Devon Meadows 12.

15 AND UNDER

Despite the wind it was a good competitive match that was close game for four quarters, with the final score a draw, thanks to a last minute pressure goal by Melissa Rooke.
In the midcourt Bec Van Steensel and Claire Van Lambaart worked hard to come forward and provide leads as was asked of them.
Defenders Cheyenne Douglas, Jacinta Baldwin and Ruby Meade stayed tightly on their opponents. Shooters Ellie Gubbins and Melissa Rooke played a good second half, moving well in the ring and working their passes around nicely to utilise their space to score.
Scores: Beaconsfield 18 drew with Devon Meadows 18. Best: Claire Van Lambaart and Cheyenne Douglas.
