Feed the need

You all would have seen the news of the devastating bushfires right to the north of Melbourne and various parts of Gippsland.
The Lions Club of Pakenham manages a project called Need for Feed.
With the help of members of the Lions Clubs local to the bushfire areas, we organise stock and animal feed for the needs of the affected property holders.
What we need is your support for the longer term provision of a reliable supply of fodder.
Properties in the direct path of the fires have sustained substantial losses of pasture, fences and hay sheds.
While some stock have been killed in the fires, or had to be put down afterwards, large numbers remain which need to be cared for until pastures and fences are re-established.
Government agencies are typically slow to respond and on past experience will not necessarily be there for long haul.
The Lions Club of Pakenham has launched a new appeal for funds and fodder to provide for these needs.
The people of the Grampians and Bonang fires in far East Gippsland will not be forgotten.
People could respond with donations of suitable fodder to make up a load or make a cash donation that would enable Need for Feed to pay for transport.
Remember, every little bit helps.
Please call Graham on 5944 4111, mobile 0459 444 111 or email lionsneedforfeed@yahoo.com.au.
Graham Cockerell,
President,
Pakenham Lions.
