More, for Shaw

I REFER to Mr Battin’s blatantly self-promoting letter in this week’s Pakenham Gazette and believe it would be more aptly named smoke and mirrors.
While he purports to outline how public transport has improved and the cost has gone down under the current government, he clearly has not travelled the trains in the peak.
If he would like to talk about facts then let’s talk about how his government gained office on a promise of lowering the cost of living for Victorians. So let’s look at the facts under the current government – electricity up, gas up, telephone up, registration up, council rates up, government fees and charges up to name a few – how is this lowering the cost of living?
The only thing that appears to have gone down by the current State Government is government services. Therefore it stands to reason if we want costs to keep going up and up and services down, then vote for Mr Battin and his party – after all, remember his party also brought you the Member for Frankston, Geoff Shaw.
Christopher Andrews,
Berwick.
