Points ahead at Pakenham

AN excellent 41 points was enough for Steve Levett to win the Stableford event at Pakenham Golf Club on Saturday.
Agrade went to Bryan Clydesdale with 38 points and Peter Korteman won Cgrade, also with 38 points.
Nearest the pin on the golf shop second hole went to Graeme Steel and Scott Phillips won the Pakenham Subway fifth hole.
Dan Cameron was the winner of the Dante’s Woodfired Pizza eighth hole and Chris Lim took out the Hungry Jacks 14th.
The Pakenham Pizza 16th hole went to Colin MacLean and the B.M.R. Autos second shot on the sixth hole was won by Mason Shadwell.
Scott Phillips received a ball for a birdie on the fifth hole.
Rob Sandiford won the B.M.R. Autos longest drive in Agrade and Bgrade went to Steve Levett. The McIntyre Painting Cgrade longest drive went to Jeff Paterson.
Downtheline balls went to Shane Wilkinson 39, Paul Hobson 38. Michael McKenna 38, John Goodchild 37, Bret Mottrom 37, Colin MacLean 37, Graeme Steel 37, Mason Shadwell 36, Phil Tunstall 36, Frank Morris 36, Clint Sezney 36, Mark Klaver 36, Gary Brand 36, Grant McKay 36 and Noel Boyd, Hugh Westmorland, George Coffey and Patrick Duane all 35.
The raffle winners were Wayne Lamers and Hugh Westmorland.
This week is Hoaries Revenge and the following week sees the August monthly medal sponsored by the Great Australian Bakery.

@BT Sub Sport Gaz:SATURDAY LADIES

Ten played Stableford with the winner being Elly Briggs coming in with 41 points.
Elly also won nearest the pin with her second shot on the 16th and reduced her handicap to 33.
Down the lines went to Loretta Stewart 36 and Bianca Walker 35.
This week the Saturday ladies play Hoaries Revenge as a twoperson Ambrose and it will be a draw for partners.

This will be held on Thursday, 7 September.
Nominations for the board of management and expressions of interest for the subcommittees are now open.
The forms are available from the clubhouse and nominations close on 24 August.

There was no competition on Monday due to the wet weather.

@BT Sub Sport Gaz:WEDNESDAY MORNING RESULTS

It was a Stableford competition and 65 players teed off and surprisingly there was some good scores recorded even though the course was wet after the weekend rain.
Heath Barclay came in with 39 points to win from Cliff Pain 35 and John Kingman 35 on a countback.
Down the lines went to Angie Peluso 35, Bob Morrison 35, George Coffey 35, Brian Bateup 35, Colin Crowle 34, Steven Chapman 34, Chris Peeters 34 and Ron Thouliss from Garfield 34.
Nearest the pin on the second hole went to Peter Wigney and the eighth to John Kingman. Mick Boyd took out the 14th hole.

Michael Burns was the winner, coming in with 41 Stableford points from Ken McIntyre with 38.

Last Tuesday was a fun time playing Stableford for captain’s/president’s day.
The winning score for captain’s side was Leonie Sander with 32 points.
The winning score for the president’s side was Toni Owen with 42 points that brought her handicap down to 35.
Runnerup for the captain’s side was Shirley Roberts with 31 points and the president’s side runnerup was Wendy Carter with 29 points.
Nearest the pin on the second hole went to Toni Owen, the 14th to Shirley Roberts and the second shot on the 16th was won by Helen Aurish.
Downtheline balls went to Loretta Stewart 28, Joan Rawson 28, June McCardel 28, Marjorie Dean 28, Leanne Andrews 26, Helen Aurish 26.
The captain’s side was successful on the day.
