Berwick shines on court

BERWICK Netball Club had a very successful day against Tooradin on Saturday with four out of six wins and all three senior teams overcoming tough opposition.

@BT Sub Sport Gaz:A GRADE

Berwick played a very disciplined game of netball against Tooradin to come away with a hardfought win.
Four goals down at quarter time, the team regrouped and played an excellent second quarter to hold a threegoal lead at halftime.
Sue Roberts and Vanessa San Jose combined strongly in goals and were able to extend the lead.
The attacking players of Lennyss Tedia and Christine Patterson were patient working the ball into the goal ring.
The defensive end applied strong pressure all day with Mishelle MansonBlair playing an outstanding game at goalkeeper.
Scores: Berwick 45 d Tooradin 35.
Best Berwick: Mishelle MansonBlair.

@BT Sub Sport Gaz:B GRADE

Berwick played excellent netball to down Tooradin by 14 goals on Saturday.
Virginia Hester and Belinda Walshe combined well in goals in the first half and shot accurately. Emma Ray and Rebecca Vickers were solid in defence creating many defensive turnovers.
The midcourt of Jess Monahan, Lisa Cotela, Kelly Bateman and Belinda Hester provided strong drives down into the goal third.
Final score: Berwick 41 d Tooradin 27.
Best – Berwick: Lisa Cotela.

@BT Sub Sport Gaz:C GRADE

Berwick played an exciting game against Tooradin for a onegoal win.
A strong second quarter gave it a sevengoal lead at halftime, but a lapse of concentration in the third quarter allowed Tooradin back into the match.
Berwick played a strong last quarter to hold off Tooradin.
Scores: Berwick 29 d Tooradin 28.

@BT Sub Sport Gaz:17 AND UNDER

Berwick played well against a strong Tooradin team to go down by seven goals.
Scores: Tooradin 27 d Berwick 20.

@BT Sub Sport Gaz:15 AND UNDER

After a slow start Berwick was down by seven goals at the end of the first quarter.
After making some positional changes the team fought back to be very competitive and loose by four goals.
Melissa McCormick and Alyce Shearman were praised for their strong attacking leads.
Scores: Tooradin 25 d Berwick 21.

@BT Sub Sport Gaz:13 AND UNDER

With all players back this week Berwick played an excellent game against a young Tooradin side.
The team showed great ball control and created many scoring opportunities for the goalers.
Scores: Berwick 55 d Tooradin 6.
