PAKENHAM CFA has had over 50 more callouts in 2006 than it had this time last year.
CFA captain Vince Ingram said firefighters had notched up more than 150 callouts for the first six months of the year.
There were only about 100 between January and July, 2005, he said.
Mr Ingram said the most serious recent incident was a fire in the roof of a house in Gardenia Street.
A house in Thwaites Road was also badly burnt by a fire earlier this year.
