Clean sweep for Pakenham

PAKENHAM defeated Devon Meadows in their A Grade netball match.
Positive leads kept the game open with all Pakenham players passing accurately into the spaces and the goalers worked well together shooting with confidence.
The defence all over the court worked well, not allowing Devon Meadows any good use of the ball.
Score: Pakenham 65 d Devon Meadows 30.
Awards: Gold ‘n Chezz Danni West.

B GRADE

Pakenham’s weekend match was an opportunity to try to work on and finetune combinations in preparation for the finals.
They adapted to positional changes well for a great win.
Score: Pakenham 61 d Devon Meadows 13.
Awards: Gold ‘n Chezz Bree Czempinski, Bubba Pizza Hannah Milnes.

C GRADE

Playing a more open court gave the Pakenham players a chance to pass quickly to their goal end.
Many changes of positions were handled well.
Scores: Pakenham 59 d Devon Meadows 11.

Under 17

After a loss the previous week against Tooradin, Pakenham knew there were aspects of the game which needed to be worked on.
Having a great chance to implement this in the weekend’s game, the players adjusted well.
Little talk on the court allowed the opposition to capitalise and resulted in the game being a lot tighter than anticipated.
Scores: Pakenham 29 d Devon Meadows 22.

UNDER 15

Pakenham won easily with the goalers being on target.
Devon Meadows didn’t apply great pressure, with Pakenham playing an easy game to win 473.
Awards: Nicole Wake, Jess Rossetti, Tahlia McManus, Nat Horua.

UNDER 13

Pakenham played their last home and away game of the season against Devon Meadows and everyone played well.
The team has come together at the right time of the year and looks forward to its finals campaign.
Score: Pakenham 38 d Devon Meadows 6.

SOCIAL NOTES

This Saturday night there will be a casserole tea available organised by the netballers prior to the Inspirational/Comedy night with Captain Eric and Thank God You’re Here performances commencing at 7.30pm.
All welcome, with the cost $10 adults/$5 juniors.

Pakenham has two finals games on Sunday 3 and 10 September and any help in the canteen or around the ground would be greatly appreciated.
