AUSKICK participant Jarrod Anderson from Kooweerup has won the opportunity of a lifetime to play on the MCG at halftime in the 2006 AFL grand final.
Jarrod, 7, and a guardian will travel to Melbourne to participate in grand final week activities.
Auskick ambassador Robert DiPierdomenico said being in Melbourne for the biggest week in Australia’s sporting calendar was the opportunity of a lifetime.
“If you love your football, the grand final is the place to be. I’m looking forward to meeting 94 children from all over Australia and I know from experience the grand final is the ultimate experience,” he said.
Winners will join DiPierdomenico in the grand final parade, will visit AFL World and take part in the grand final prematch entertainment. Some of the children will get the opportunity to present a premiership medal to one of the winning players.
Jarrod was selected by registering in the 2006 Auskick program.
Every Auskick participant across Australia, aged between five and 12, was automatically entered into the competition, which was drawn on Monday 14 August. One winner from each of the 94 development regions across Australia was selected, making this one of the biggest kids’ competitions of its kind.
