Pakenham make the grade

PAKENHAM played Dingley at home for the last time as they head off to another league next season. The day saw Pakenham win the Agrade but go down against the very strong B and Cgrades of Dingley.

@BT Sub Sport Gaz: AGRADE

Pakenham started well and, with good driving down court, made use of the space. In the second quarter Pakenham continued to build with accurate shooting and good combining within the ring.
Lastquarter changes were not beneficial to Pakenham but the game was enjoyed and a good win resulted.
Awards: Kasey Bergin.
Score: Pakenham 58 d Dingley 41.

@BT Sub Sport Gaz:BGRADE

Pakenham started well keeping possession and working the ball around into the ring. After halftime Dingley stepped up and dominated. The Pakenham girls continued to work but the team dropped intensity.
Awards: Gold ’n Chezz: Jacqui Dwyer; Bubba: Aleisha Taurau.
Score: Dingley 48 d Pakenham 27.

@BT Sub Sport Gaz:CGRADE

Pakenham started with force but Dingley took advantage of some changes to take the lead. Pakenham pulled the lead back a bit too late, demonstrating that it’s four whole quarters that counts.
Score: Dingley 33 d Pakenham 24.

@BT Sub Sport Gaz: UNDER15 and 13s

With Dingley not having any juniors playing, Pakenham used the morning to have a scratch match, giving the coaches a good opportunity to finetune positions in preparation for the finals.

@BT Sub Sport Gaz: CLUB NOTES

Finals time is always exciting but none more so than having all six teams involved. Agrade and under15s have a rest after finishing in top spot while the under13s had a great season after just getting seven girls on the court for round 1 and then making their first final, hopefully their first of many. It is a knockout round for the Bgraders and under13s so hopefully Pakenham can win and play on the home courts next weekend in the first semifinal. The Cgrade and under17s have the advantage of the home court in the qualifying games and take on the ladder leaders next Saturday.
Two finals will be played at the Pakenham ground/courts on Sundays 3 and 10 September and members can see Jenny Burridge to offer assistance and help out in the canteen.
