Beaconsfield's lead of making the night compulsory for all their players was followed by other clubs, with coaches, committee and team-officials, joining the players to gain knowledge and listen to four guest speakers. Steve Wood of Victoria Police, engaged every person in the room as he spoke about the impact on families and friends who have lost loved ones due to drugs and alcohol. Andrew Holt of YSAS, told of the Youth Services that are available - his key message was that males don't tend to speak about their issues and this causes wrong decisions to be made. Ex-Fremantle and St Kilda player Heath Black showed a DVD on the perception of him as an AFL player, but explained how nobody knew he was homeless and living in his car after losing everything to depression, drugs and alcohol.
