A POLICE crackdown on early morning speedsters has resulted in more than 80 motorists being booked for travelling too quickly along the Princes Highway.
Pakenham Senior Sergeant Steve Matthews said Operation Early Bird, conducted in recent weeks by Cardinia traffic management unit police, had been very successful.
The ongoing operation targeted speedsters, motorists with unregistered vehicles and other offences.
Most speedsters who were booked were travelling 2530 kilometres over the legal speed limit, he said.
“We want motorists to be aware that if they speed there is a good chance they will get caught,” Sen Sgt Matthews said.
