THE City of Casey is to get $479,205 to help with its work to curb family violence.
La Trobe MP Jason Wood said the Commonwealth Government’s National Community Crime Prevention Program (NCCPP) would provide the money.
Mr Wood said the money would assist the council to identify, prevent and respond to family violence.
“The NCCPP provides funding for grassroots projects designed to enhance community safety and crime prevention,” he said.
“This is by preventing or reducing crime and antisocial behaviour, improving community safety, security and reducing the fear of crime.”
Mr Wood congratulated the City of Casey for its commitment to this project.
“I am confident it will be of great benefit to the community,” he said.
