New clubhouse

BERWICK Montuna Ladies Golf Club celebrated the opening of the new clubhouse with a gala day on Wednesday last week.
The members invited guests to play in the fourballbestball competition and the winners were Robyn Dodge (29), (the Berwick Montuna ladies captain) and Jean Brown (29) from Cerberus with 42 points.
Close behind were Dawn Howell (32) from Latrobe and Val Pickering (33) from Berwick Montuna with 41 points.
The member/member winners were Pat Baker (34) and Ruth Johnson (45), both from Berwick Montuna who scored 42 points. Nearestthepin winners were Jeni Robinson (fourth), Sharon Dumbleton (ninth) and Dawn Campbell (13th).
On Sunday, 22 October, Wendy Parkinson won the Fay Blair Memorial Trophy when she was fourup with three to go in matchplay against Glenda Gorton.

DEVIL BEND WIN

A team from Berwick Montuna had an excellent win at the Devil Bend Bowl on Friday, October 20.
Glenda Gorton (32) scored 38 points, Robyn Dodge (30) was 37 points with Louise Ford (19) on 31 points to give a grand total of 106 points.

OTHER RESULTS

On October 14 the Stableford competition winner was Maureen Dean with an excellent score of 40 points on a 16 handicap. The following day, Sunday, 15 October, Wendy Parkinson (21) blitzed the course with 65 nett in the Stroke competition. The play off for the Star Medallist resulted in Louise Ford (20) being the winner.
