AFTER caring for the countless feet of Kooweerup for the past 15 years, Peter and Margaret Seuren have finally hung up their shoe horns.
The owners of Shoex on Rossiter Road have proudly measured and laced up thousands of shoes over the years, and will be sad to leave the wellknown store.
Peter and Margaret are the longestserving business owners in Kooweerup, after a total of 22 years dedicated to a newsagency and a shoe store.
But Peter said that after working long hours as a newsagent, the move to a shoe store was definitely a better fit.
“It certainly is a lot easier on your health. The mornings aren’t so early,” Peter laughed.
New owners Debbie and Gideon Cox will continue to operate Shoex and Peter has passed on some solesearching tips.
“People come here for the service. It is something that has been long forgotten at some shops,” Peter said.
Peter is overjoyed the shop will continue to operate.
“It is a double bonus. The new owners are local and the shop will continue trading,” he said.
Peter and Margaret are making the transition into semiretirement, but admit there won’t be a dull day. “There is a little grandchild to keep us busy,” Margaret said.
