ARNOLD Mills played a top game with 66 nett to win the November monthly medal and Cgrade at Drouin Golf Club on Saturday.
On 22, he also lost three shots off his handicap.
A field of 110 players teed off in fine conditions for the medal event.
Cgrade runnerup was Chris Hunt with 70.
Danny Shine (handicap four) parred the course to win both the scratch event and Agrade with 68 nett on a countback from Pat McDonald.
John White was next in Agrade with 69, followed by Matt Curtain 70.
Bgrade winner was Doug Scott (18) with nett 71. Runner up was Les Madden, 72, followed by Jack Gardiner and Ian Dorsie both on 73.
Nearest the pins 14th: Dean Robbins, 17th: Paul Lunt, 19th: Mick Hanley, 23rd (pro pin): Barry Cunningham.
Balls down the line went to 73 on a countback and the CCR was 73.

@BT Sub Sport Gaz:WEDNESDAY RESULTS

A large field of 115 players contested the Stableford competition.
Agrade was closely contested with five players finishing tied on 38 points.
Ian Archer (handicap five) was the countback winner from Jim Gregory, Brad Bennett, John Wolswinkel and John White.
Garry Mackay (handicap 16) won Bgrade with the day’s highest score of 44 points from runnerup Gordon Warren 42. John Kelly was next in Bgrade with 39.
Bill Todd (handicap 24) won Cgrade with 41 points.
Ron Degering (handicap 40) won a threeway countback to be runnerup from Con Norris and Mike Waring.
Downtheline balls went to 37 on a countback and the CCR was 71.

@BT Sub Sport Gaz:THURSDAY RESULTS

Zed Weiclaw was the winner of the seniors’ ninehole event from Graham Dorling 19 and Charlie Hardy 18.

@BT Sub Sport Gaz:MONDAY RESULTS

Bruce Horskins and Con Norris tied last Monday with 21 points each in the ninehole event.

This Saturday is the Canon Challenge, individual Stableford event.

@BT Sub Sport Gaz:LADIES

Last Tuesday’s event was Stableford and the grandmother’s trophy, sponsored by Nola Gwynn. The CCR was 40 points.
The Agrade winner was Pam Pratt with 41 points and the runnerup was Glenda Warren with 40 points.
The Bgrade and grandmother’s trophy winner was Robyn Eacott with 43 points. Robyn has now broken her handicap to 33.
The runnerup, with 41 points, was Kay Grieve who has broken her handicap to 34.
Nearest the pin on the 14th was Audrey Smethurst and on the 19th Margaret Cole.
Downtheline balls went to Karen Adams, 40 points, Jill Brenchley 39, Betty Johnson 39, Sylvia Martin and Margaret Purcell both on 38.

@BT Sub Sport Gaz:MERIMBULA TRIP

Drouin ladies again did well at Merimbula this year.
Bernace Miller was runnerup on ladies day, was third in the mixed foursomes and broke her handicap by two strokes.
Kay Grieve, along with her partner Olwyn Balfour from Trafalgar, was third in the fourballbestball on the first day, had a downtheline ball in the mixed foursomes on the third day and was fourth in the individual Stableford event on the sixth day.
Jill Brenchley and Val Johnson each has a nearest the pin and everyone had a great holiday.

Competition day is Thursday, 9 November and will be Stableford, sponsored by Drouin Guardian Chemist.
Next week, 14 November, will be stroke and the Star Medal playoff, sponsored by Jill Greenland.
